Road freight is the backbone of trade between Turkey and Europe. For most shipments to the EU it is faster than you might expect, more economical than air, and — with the right partner — almost as simple as sending a parcel. This guide explains how it works, what you can send, how customs is handled, and how to get a quote.
Turkey shares a land bridge with Europe, so trucks and express vans move goods directly from Istanbul and other Turkish hubs to destinations across the continent. Compared with air, road freight carries far more volume and weight for the money, which makes it the natural choice for furniture, textiles, machinery parts, e-commerce stock and full household moves. At iclogi, road is our primary service to the EU, with air kept as a fast option for urgent, lightweight items.
There are two main ways to move road cargo:
If speed is critical and the shipment is small, air express (1–3 days) is also available — but for most Turkey–Europe freight, road wins on value.
Textiles and clothing, furniture, carpets, electronics, cosmetics, spare parts, commercial samples and personal belongings all move well by road. For online sellers, road is the usual route for restocking EU warehouses. Restricted and dangerous goods have special rules — ask us before booking.
Every Turkey–EU shipment crosses customs twice: export from Turkey and import into the destination country. iclogi prepares the export paperwork in Turkey and arranges clearance in the EU, so you don't need a separate customs broker. For a deeper look, see our guide to customs for road freight between Turkey and the EU.
Transit depends on the lane and service. Express vans reach the nearest EU markets in a couple of days; trucks take longer for distant or full-load destinations. We publish typical ranges in our Turkey to Europe delivery times guide.
We don't publish fixed price lists, because the right rate depends on weight, volume, destination and service. Tell us what you're shipping and we'll prepare a personalised quote — sign up on the panel or message us on WhatsApp.
